GESC Course Synopsis

Business Coaching for Entrepreneurs

This course provides a practical approach of business coaching in an entrepreneurial environment.  Students will learn the coaching models and process as well as the strategies and techniques of coaching.  Students will also be given first-hand experience of coaching and being coached. By the end of the course, students will have a working knowledge of how coaching can be used, what coaches need to do to be effective, and the ability to practice the skills of coaching. Students could also develop their own coaching models.

New Venture Management

Students will apply the knowledge gained for the management of new venture process and strategies. The main objective of this course is to equip students to make good business venture decisions.  This course requires students to produce business models of the new venture.  At the end of this course, students will be able to develop business idea to start a new venture, and to overcome the issues and challenges of new business venture management.

Technology Entrepreneurship

This course concentrates on the innovative transformation of knowledge into commercial products and services. Students will assess real technologies for the commercial potential for new venture development. The course will examine the concepts associated with technology commercialization. Concepts are introduced to improve and accelerate the commercialization process. At the end of this course, students will be able to analyze related technologies for commercialization potential and derive the steps that a technology goes through in the journey from the laboratory to the marketplace.
